Spider and Thread Veins

Spider or thread veins are similar to varicose veins but are a lot smaller and closer to the surface of the skin. Spider veins are usually red or blue in colour and resemble a spider web pattern. They occur most often in women and usually appear on the legs or face.

The most common causes of spider veins include, prolonged standing or sitting or defective valves in the underlying veins. Other factors that may play a role in their development might be heredity, hormonal changes, acne, pregnancy and sun exposure.

Leg veins are best treated by micro-injection sclerotherapy. Facial veins respond well to Veinwave treatment.
